Girvin Vector 2 nightmare
« on: September 07, 2003, 08:22:34 am »
I know this is probably a hopeless ask but I have recently given my girlfriend one of my proflexes but the vector 2 fork, is beginning to show its age I am trying to source an upper axle rod (Part no. 15098), the original has snapped and I am looking for a front ODS shock spring replacement for a lovely lady weighing 65-70kg (she'll kill me if she reads this!) any suggestions? I am also looking for a pin spanner to do an oil change in both front and rear ODS units, but it seems impossible to locate one here in the UK! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Hi there.  I know that the upper excentric axle rod is avaliable from K2 Canada. I think they go for about $10 CDN.    Spring kit... possibly RDI ???

Hope this helps,
Trevor

I was going to make up my own pin spanner for my old 856 but I managed undoing the caps buy clamping the caps in a vice using suitable protection in the vice jaws to protect the caps and don't overtighten as you'll just be deforming the the cap against the bodies threads, then using a correct size rod through the bodies eye, I then turned the body to undo the cap, worked fine but if I was intending to do this on a regular basis I'd definitely make up a tool, if you need details on oil change instructions oil levels weight etc let me know and I'll forward on some Proflex tech force instructions.Simon [smiley=nod.gif]

Hi Dentistastic,  I forgot to mention to check ebay.  Here is a link to a search.

http://search.ebay.co.uk/ws/search/SaleSearch?socurrencydisplay=2&salocatedincountry=3&maxrecordsreturned=300&sosortproperty=1&ht=1&satitle=%28noleen%2crisse%2ck2%2cgirvin%2cproflex%2cvector%2cvector2%2cvector3%2cods%2cprolink%2ccrosslink%2cspeedspring%2cspeedspring&sorecordsperpage=50&sacategory=16169&catref=C1

If you look at the completed items, you will see a fork that went for 21 Pound.  That is about the market value over here of $65 USD for a used vector 2 fork.
