Glad it worked out. Do Noleen do a Nr1 for the rear of this frame as well?

I've never seen one, in fact I'm not aware of any after market shock replacement for this frame. I plan to make my 962 as either a virtual hard-tail, or maybe use some rubber "LandRover" style bushes to give it a bit of "Boing"

I was looking at the Risse Racing site and saw they sell an aftermarket Genesis Damper rear shock for the Attack 656. The rear suspension on the attack looks very similar to the 555. As far as I can tell it looks like that shock screws into the the frame like on the 555 and it has a similar bolt attachment to the seat stay.

Do you know if this shock could work or not?

I'm sure I've seen a risse rear shock for this frame. Theres a photo somewhere, ill try snd find it. I didn't think Noleen made one but just wondered.

Yes that's the one I was thinking of. It certainly looks the same fitment. The attack uses the same swingarm so that end would fit and it's only an adaptor that screws to the frame the other end so I think it would fit. Proflex tended to have a modular design approach and useed the same parts on their bikes throughout the range, so chances are the thread size will be the same. It's only a bolt to change if not.

Brilliant! a proper shock for the "Attack" style frame, I didn't know that existed, but not sure I'm going to be shelling out $198 plus UK import duty for one of those though!

Yeh a bit steep isn't it but you could save on the import tax by one of our US members posting it over as a gift.

Risse shocks do come up for sale in the UK (ie Ebay etc) every now & then, whether the right model ever comes up dor sale ia another matter however...

Think of it as an upgrade and investment, as they're fully rebuildable it should be the only shock you will ever need to guy for the bike.

Also look into having an adapter machined to allow you to fit a more standard shock (like a Fox Float etc), the cost of machining the part and a decent 2nd hand shock might add up to the same cost as a newly imported Risse shock though, but if you know someone with a lathe/cnc machine and a bit of time & know-how you could be onto a winner.
