Removing yellow goo

Just got a 756 and of course the elastomers have disolved. What is the best method for removing the goo without causing other problems? It seems to come off with my fingernail but I really don't look forward to that. The front has most of it.
The bike is totally original down the unworn brake pads and all the refletors. I am guessing it has only been riden no more than a few miles as the rim sidewalls are not even scratched. Large size in the grape color. Not bad for $135.

Funny enough with my large grape 856 I found the best thing was to use a finger
to remove the goo. That way you dont damage the paint.

I've used a product called Goo Gone for a lot of things, but have never tried it on elastomers. You can always find it at Dollar Tree stores. I think I have a frame that still has some elastomer on it, I'll try it and let you know in the next few hours.

Works on yellow goo too. Still have to rub a little but gets all the sticky residue.

I think I have Goo Gone somewhere. Did not think of trying that. Thanks.
