kiwi, is it a help that your springs are 10* N/E or is that just a Newzealand thing  ;).

If you can contact Callum of ex RDS, when he shut up shop he had a box of COR end caps left over but no springs. He was trying to sell the whole box if someone else wanted to find their own spring suppier. He would probably still sell the caps but contacting him will be the challenge.

Chris

most interesting thing is the variation in the needle from pics1 to 3 purely from turning the spring 180 deg!.It was the only thing i could find with a scale on it!

Finally got out to the garage today to measure a spring or two.  The Noleen 350# rear spring is 3.75" (95mm).  Also measured the titanium 225# spring adapted to the ODS that was originally elastomer and it was slightly over 3" (78mm).

Presently working on some research to find titanium springs cheap!

Really?  What if you could buy a 225# titanium spring that would adapt to an ODS shock for your Girvin Fork for 45 bucks US?  That's what I posted a picture of.  Now I am closing in on the guy's source.

well i dont know what a steel spring would cost in the same circumstances.I was commenting on the fact(perhaps unfairly) that you NEVER associate Titanium and Cheap. Will be great if you demonstrate that we are indeed human!

My humanity has been called into question regularly but she hasn't divorced me yet.

I'm just repurposing a spring actually.  I bought one of those springs from epay that were advert several years ago.  The seller, whoever he was didn't know a thing about what we are looking for.  I/E ,  free length, I/O diameters, spring rate, etc or he could have sold them more effectively.   I just sent the money and hoped.  Never got around to testing the spring or building up a bike until late last summer.  My elastomer stash was running low.

Sure, I can have titanium springs custom wound here in Washington State for $250 each but for that price I can buy a quality steel spring with a gas-charged Noleen shock down the middle of it.....  and recently did.   The possibility I am closing in on is a spring that is a factory replacement for a high volume application that lowers the price for the rest of us.  Problem is, I have to get some new ones and then test them to our application's spec.  No point in anyone else pizzing their money away until the prospects look better.

No good info on the one I found but it appears to be the right one.  It's in a blister pack with a part number...   I think it will be a front spring application.  Sending the money now....
