Need Beast (green) dimensions for a large

I have an opportunity to pick up a Beast in good shape this afternoon, but the owner is not sure if it is a medium or large.  I think it is a large, but the space between top tube and bottom tube at the head tube worries me.  All I have seen so far are pictures, and, I am away from home, so I cannot measure my old 855 frame.  Here is the bike:  http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=389&ssid=9428736&rurl=nid,218,ad,9428736,lpid,,cat,191

I havent got my frame near at the moment so cant measure but looking at where the bend in the top tube is I would agree and say it is a large. The mediums have the bend an inch or so further forward.

The report on the Beast is as follows:
Found sticker on frame indicating it is a 20 inch frame.  Felt like a large, but I thought 18 inch was a large...
Front shock/spring covered in oil   no Damping.
Rear shock has no damping and loud clunk on rebound
Rear brake cable rub spot on down tube is deep.  Maybe 2mm
Rear swingarm and pivots are good.  No creaking was heard as I boinged along on it. 
I could probably get the bike for $40-50.  Not sure if it would be a worthy project though.  Anyone know if Noleen or anyone else will service the shocks?  Approximate $?

I'd be more worried about a 2mm deep groove in the frame.

"x56" style frame came in 4 sizes:
14" Small
16" Medium
18" Large
20" Way Big

This table comes from the catalogs of the respective years.
All measurements are to the nearest millimeter. Angles in degrees.
TT = Top tube
CS = Chainstay
WB = Wheel base
HT = Head tube
C2T = Center to tube (from BB to top tube midline)*
C2C = Center to center (from BB to seat tube top)
SO = Stand over
BBH = Bottom bracket height
FR = Fork rake

Not sure I've ever seen a "Way Big" x56 frame to recognise any gross physical differences between that and a Large, but the steerer tube is much longer, but that doesn't come across in the photo?

I'd say $50 is well worth it just for parts! Even the $95 it's up for is not so bad!

Don't bother servicing the shocks, $100 per end!

Just put some ODS on it or mod it to something modern, or just part it.

Honestly I did not like my crosslink fork until the oil blew out. My wife's 957 has a blown noleen shock and it works very well. And my buddy has a 4000 Way big with a blown Noleen that he does not even know that it is blown, and he loves it. We seem to love the fast action.$0
I would adapt a modern shock to the rear with one of them adapter that are in the works. $80 to $100?
And the groove in the frame could be fixed. $40 to $60?

$40 sounds like a good deal. $30 would be better. $30 + $100 + $60 =$190.

I think it is still a large as my frame was advertised as a 19.5" - large.  20" is probably just the way he is measuring it. Blokes always big there size up a bit  .
Didnt the Way Big x56 have a much longer seat tube? Someone was bidding on one recently and posted a photo.
Go on buy it, you can never have too many.

I thought the way big had an extended seatpost. I was looking at buying one late last year till I found out the long seat mast meant it was a way large.

Just FYI, I've got 2 Way Big 856 frames available, one in silver and the other in red (both pretty nice, though the red one has a better paint finish). I can supply a fork and rear swingarm as well, though I'd prefer to hold onto those. There are pics of the red one in the BUY/SELL topic, posted late last year. I'm in northern VA (USA) and can probably ship of you pay the cost. Maybe $75 each?

hmmm..... ok I only looked at the picture, not the writing. Im sure that cant be the same photo I looked at first time as I didnt notice the extended seat tube . Has someone must have photoshoped it  .
