Just got a 657, what can i do?????
« on: December 14, 2009, 01:11:48 pm »
Hi, my name is Chorng and i just picked up a proflex 657. I was wondering if i can switch the drivetrain to a 9 speed set up. I have a lot of spare parts from other bikes would like to install new derailleurs, shifters and rear cassette. I would also like to install new front and rear springs/shocks. The bike is in good condition but i want to upgrade a bit. Can someone give me some info on what I can do?  Thanks!

shouldn't be a problem upgrading to 9 speed - you just need all the kit. As far as shocks go then you're more limited - how deep are your pockets? You could go down this route:

otherwise you're looking at making adapters.
