Early Vector fork compatability with ULM Vector forks
«

Can anyone tell me if the later Vector forks with the upper link mount (ULM) are exactly same as the original 855 Vectors apart from the steerer length and ULM. I currently have 1" steerer Vectors with a Risse Genesis shock and am looking to get a set of the later forks to remove the steerer tube and ULM to refit on my forks. Will this work?
I don't want to end up with a Risse shock I can't use if the shock lengths are different. I was going to check the CVI site but doesn't seem to be there anymore (are they still around?)
Thanks

CVI went bust april '06 unfortunately. May get chance to measure shock lengths tomorrow if nobody else answers here.

i have a later vector fork right here,,,literally 2 metres away, the elastomers are toast so dont know if i can give you a original shock length or not...I am pretty sure the fork will be exactly the same save the ulm related changes...If you are getting a later model fork why worry about tthe compatibility. If you get a risse make sure you tell them its for the vector fork not the Crosslink.I think there is a length difference

Shame about CVI, I'll need to find someone else in UK should it need servicing at some point..
I too was assuming Proflex would have just re-engineered the top mount and left all other dimensions as was, otherwise the redesign/remanufacturing costs would have been huge and possibly prohibitive at the time.
kiwi - Risse is already on the bike hence my need to try and check shock lengths if possible before picking up a secondhand fork.
