Coil Spring Rates??
« on: January 27, 2008, 07:23:49 am »
Hey Fellas, I'm posting a couple of Noleen coil springs on ebay marked 175-500 and 175-650. Honestly, I forgot what these numbers are for (what spring rate?) and I was hoping anyone here can help me so I can better clarify the ad.  Thanks in advance guys....

I believe the first number is the length of the spring (175mm) while the second one is the spring rate in pounds. You might also include the inner diameter of the springs in your description...

Errrrrrr.......I think Not.........

I am pretty suret that the marking NB175 means 1.75" which is the length the spring can compress without binding, (i.e. the coils touching each other)

This matches the length of compression of the shock. i.e. a NR-4 or a NR-5 has 1.75" of compression from fully extended to fully compressed.

Some springs will be marked NB2 which means they will compress at least 2" before bind and thus makes them suitable for a NR-1 or 2.

The second number is the weight in Lb's per inch of compression

You can't sell an Oz. That's like selling a child. Ought to be illegal. Instead, you should put it up for adoption by a loving parent. I happen to be a loving parent and would love to care for your beloved Oz-m...
