XP-8 rebuild

Thought I'd share my current project with everyone.
Appologies to all who have already seen it.
Many thanks to the members who have given me some first class advice, You Know Who You Are!!
I've gone for XT transmission and Easton EA70 finishing kit with Avid Juicy's(when they arrive)
Cant position the caliper bracket on the fork leg until I mount the rotor and caliper.

Note to Shovelon,
I'll try the quenching later and let you know the result!

Ahhhh!
It was supposed to post some captions with it and some other photo's, I'm just trying to get to grips with posting photo's!
The crushed thing is the test piece that I weld/brazed and then took a 4lb hammer to to see how solid it was, it never really failed after 3-4mins of hammering, just the front edge starting to peel back on one side.
The other bit is the test piece before the hammer attack.

Very cool stuff. Looks like you've got an EDM at your disposal?

You could probably build 25 of those front end disk adapters and sell them for $35 each in two weeks...
You would also make a lot of new friends!

(It would be enough to get me back onto a set of XLinks on my 856 Single Speed)

The thought did cross my mind, however I,ve only got 1 set set of Crosslinks and once they're bonded up I havent got anything to use to line everything up with, need another set of Crosslinks.
Only thing about a production line would be, In this sue everybody culture we live in the repercussions if one of these mounts fail.
Callum at Rapid descent used practically the same method in about 97/98 but after speaking to a Proflex rep at The UK Bike show didnt go into production like he did with the Hammerhead because Proflex had tested on a Alu crosslink and it failed CATASTROPHICALLY! Proflex might have tested to the limits of worst case scenario and thought the ensuing lawsuits werent worth it, Callum thought the same.
You've probably read OP's" how to" even he has a little disclaimer.
Thats not to say anything us guys would subject our Crosslinks to might lead to a failure like Proflex.
In correspondence with OP he said he'd ran these set-up for a while now and everything has been fine.
YOU SPIN THE WHEEL AND TAKE YOUR CHANCE.
If I did get hold of a spare set of X-links, may be I just might knock a few up but for now I think I'll offroad test and prove these.

This is a picture of the mk2, made it using 1-5/8" 16swg 6062-T6.
The thinner wall thickness allowed me to manipulate the tube to almost the exact profile of the fork leg.
Made it longer as well so the load is well and truly distributed.

i would want more enclosure of the leg,i have a thing about applying the brake whilst rolling backward....

Just adding one to the list of users who would REALLY like one of your mounts... I've got an aluminum and a carbon crosslink that are begging to be disked!
