« on: April 02, 2010, 12:08:23 pm »
Just thought I would see if any other proflexors might be in Moab Next week. ;D  Would be nice to run a few proflex bikes together in Moab ;D  So if any of you are planning to ride in Moab, send me a PM.   ;D

Sadly, the Oz will not be going this time :'(  The 5000 will have to take care of business this time...in Moab ;D

I'll be there and in Brianhead in May...if that helps.

I might be moving to Albuquerque next year, in which case Moab would be a decent half-way point to meet you for an occasional ride. It's been a long time!

The Proflex 5000 did the best it could.  The rear Fox Float worked well...thanks Doug!  I will post a few pictures in the gallery soon.  I was only able to ride two rides.  Down there for a bit of work and play.  We rode up Amasa Back and came down two I had never ridden:  Rock Stacker and Jacksons.  I have never bottomed out my 4 inch Marzocchi Bomber so much.  Talking with a local who was ripping down the drops, steps and twists, an 8-inch travel fork is best for these two.  Several sections are you fall you die.

This video shows some of the fall potential down to the Colorado River.

The other trail was Sovereign.  Always a sweet trail.

you know - I don't think I would even walk that!! I'm not very good with heights when unroped. Happy as you like with a rope - it's the OCD in me!

Oops!  Just watched that video.  Sucked a plug out of the office chair, off to the throne room to expell it.  Music was all wrong, should have sung about multiple impacts, open fractures, etc.

Nice. :o  Maybe I'd have tried that trail 10 or 12 years ago.  Even then, if I'd been shooting that video it have been a lot shorter and it would have undoubtedly ended badly (for me)... :'(

My fox float R fits my 5000 without an adapter.  What model to you have?

I have a 5500 with Fox Float RLs on both ends.  I couldn't quite get it to fit, which was good, because the length shock I have is not as long as the stock shock.  With some simple math I was able to design an adapter that effectively made the shock long enough to compensate both for the length of the Fox plus the extra 5mm of sag over the stock noleen that the Fox wants to run.  Yeah, I geek out on suspension.  I have over twice as much in suspension as I do in exhaust and carbs on my motorcycle. :D
