That's what I thought. I measured it and at full extension, it's 200mm. However as you suggest, I'll stick with something in the 160mm to 185mm range as you suggest for us "not so blessed with long inseam." When I decide to go this route, that is.

Actually Orange. I'm not sure how to define "bodging." I'm still trying to figure out what Colin meant by bodging in his post.

How are you performing the test? On a favourite loop in the woods?

Quite honestly, I don't see any issues with the way you mounted your rear shock. For offroading? Perhaps problems may arise. However since I'm using the 855 for commuting, fun and light trails, I'm sure your shock mounting method would suit it just fine.

Yes off to the woods to test in due course! From previoud discussions the lateral movement should be OK as the Risse shock is quite strong...

Sounds like a couple of characters on a kids show or cartoon!

When you say "the Risse is strong", do you mean it'll resist the slight curved travel that I mentioned earlier?

I mean, if there are any lateral forces that knock the wheel/swingarm/shock sideways it should be strong enough to take it perhaps unlike an NR-2 or suchlike with a narrower shaft. That's the theory anyway!
