Risse leak

4 month old Risse Genesis leaking air at around 15 psi per minute.  Any thoughts, suggestions for repair?

Is it leaking from the schreader valve or the seals? A bubble test would tell you.

Before you call Risse, I would confirm. Changing the valve core is easy, and you might be able to get one from the auto parts store. If it is, I would still call Risse to have them send out a replacement(cheaper and faster than returning the shock).

If it is the seal, you have to call and ask for a Return authorization. And now would be the time to ask for a revalve to your liking if needed. Josh will take care of both under warranty.

Do not Email, call and ask for Josh.

Did the bubble test and it is leaking from the nut attached to the schrader valve.  Called Josh and he is all about customer service.  He said that he will send out a new valve with extra seals as well as a maintenance tutorial (that I will take a pic of to post here) today.  If that doesn't work, I am to call him back and he will get a return authorization.  

I will post update later.

Genesis is back up and running, but does anyone know how to change the dampening rate?  It is running awful harsh...

It is easy enough to unscrew the wiper cap and go with a lighter oil. If you are using the shock on the rear, you should be set. If that still does not do the trick, wait some more for it to break in. Risse has a PDF of the proceedure. For reference, I put lite spindle oil in mine and it did help. Somewhere like an SAE 2 weight.

If that does not work, maybe Josh will teach you how to soften the valving.

My bet is that you have a REALLY tight seal and wiper.
