$200 for proflex 856, Is it worth it?

A friend of mine is selling a proflex 856.  I don't know to much about this bike.  It seems like a lot of parts are hard to come by.  My question is this, is it worth it or am I purchasing a headache?  Any feedback is appreciated.  Thanks

Sometimes the frame alone can fetch $200.

I think you have coil shocks, so that is a good thing. If the shocks still hold oil, and the swingarm pivots are in good shape and not loose, that is very good. Then if the bottom bracket and headset are tight, that is very, very good. Then if the bike shifts well, and the brakes work well, then your buddy could fetch up to $500.

The only other thing is check the seat clamp area and the swingarm mount on the frame for cracks. If you see none, then I would snap it up if I were you.

Hi friscosf, grab the bike, the ride and ability of the bike to find grip on killer hills is like nothing i`ve ever ridden. Plus in the places I ride everyone looks twice at your bike (I`m such a tart) those crosslinks really get people baffled. That alone has to be worth $200.
The people on here can advise on absolutly everything too, so should you have a problem helps never far away.

Just have a look on eBay to see what prices they are fetching. At this money it's surely got to be worth it. Heck, if you don't like riding it after you've bought it, contact me and I'll take it off your hands!
