Factory test or World Cup Design
«

Hello:
I´m a proud owner of a pro-flex 856. But I have a doubt. I´ve read, many users of this forum, reffering to the 856 has world cup design but mine has fractory test writen in the frame instead of world cup design.
I bought my bike from a friend who run in the portuguese nationals, back in the 90´s. He said that the bike was given by his sponsor.
Can anyone know what are the differences between the designations?
Bests Regards

Redliner,
That is very interesting. I would like to see pics.
I have a couple of questions. Does it have coil or elasomer shocks? Does it have a carbon swingarm?
Very intrigued,
Terry

Here I am once again with more info about factoy test.I forgot to say that I´m from Portugal.
The shock came with elastomers but I changed to coil. The swing arm is not carbon, it´s a GLS.
I believe that this designation was given by pro-flex to the dealers, and the portuguese dealer give it as a sponsor to my friend who run in the nationals. Maybe to test it.
The picture has low resolution, but the original font(letters in the frame) are the same as the World Cup Design.

Knowing how stickers and names change from one market to another in motorcycles (i.e. Honda Fireblade in the UK and pretty much everywhere bu the US) I'd say most likely it was just a marketing change for your area. Some one thought they'd sell more there if it said what it does, and more here if it said World Cup. But that is just speculation on my part.
