That is an odd bike! Don't know if it was a cyclocross frame or what, but we will see when I pick it up and measure it out. :)

i remeber seeing them in a k2 catalog a few years back.  it's not a mtn bike or a cross or a roadie. yeah it's one of those....think they called it their "comfort" series....my mom would ride one, my dad would need a third wheel. [smiley=laughing.gif]

Yeah, he says you warned him about me! :o\

I am curious to see if that frame takes road wheels.

Not likely. After all, it is listed as a mountain bike frame, it has brake studs (rare on road bikes - especially back then before CX got big), the size is in inches (not cms), and who makes a road bike with rear suspension?

I'm curious to hear how that rear suspension pivot works...
K2 5000 Large w/Avid discs, Bontrager Race Disc Modified wheels, Manitou Minute, Swinger 3-way
K2 5000 Med ("wife's") w/Avid V's, Mavic CrossLink wheels, Manitou X-vert, Risse Astro-5

Objection!!!!!
My Offroad Proflex 252 is a road bike!
It's got brake studs!
Why shouldn't road bike be meassured in inches?
And my 252 is a road bike with rear suspension.
Have a look in my gallery.

In fact it really looks like the predecessor of my 252. Some detail come close to mine.

Shovelon:
Please tell us details about that bike!!!!!!!

Cheers!

Sweet, thanks Slim for the specs.

It does take street components. Say goodbye to the wifes Centurion road bike. Say hello to the Newport.

I picked it up yesterday. It has mounts for a bike rack and rear fender. The eslastomer was replaced with car shock bushings. But it is in pretty good shape.

It feels pretty light, but I will weigh it. The swingarm pivot is directly behind the BB with teflon washers.

Pictures when it is built up.

Yeah!
Give us pictures if it is ready!

I like the idea that there are more fully roadies than the 252, 253, 254
