More info on the mtbr site
http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=174175

I've seen that suspension design elsewhere recently
and its doing my head in on what bike it was.

Hmm.

I'm not a fan of that design!

Maybe it's due to I love the design of my old ones.

Comedy - it's called the 797, which is presumably because when it's released it will be 2007, but where do the other numbers come from? The 9 was always the top of the range but at the front of the number (i.e. my 955, 957 etc). Anyone know what the middle number represented if the first was model level and the last year? Suspension design number? A stark reminder that all the proflex designs were some time ago now is that the year number is the same as the last of the proflex ones, almost a decade ago (i.e. 1997 instead of 2007). Not that they can't still cut it - my 957 got the course record at the local 24hr solo event, and my 955 just got 5th overall and 2nd singlespeed at our really local (5 mins ride from my door!) 12 hour solo enduro and was the perfect short travel bike for the rocky rooty but fast course!

Any more info with an actual ProFlex site, Simon? (or anyone?)

797?  I don't think so.

If you go to the mbreview link and look closly at the pics of the bike the Spanish guy is riding, it looks more like 497.  The number in front does not looklike the 7 at the rear of the three numbers.

Anyway it's just great to see 'Proflex' back on a new bike.

Sorry but its not single pivot,
140mm travel with instant centre path technology,
look at the extra pivot link just behind the B/B
and the long thin link bar from this to the upper
swing link,
as far as I know a spanish company bought the  Proflex name
but the design is American,
I know I've seen that suspension design very recently
on another bike and that was developed by an American company if only I could find it again  >:(

Erm, the 497 seems to be the carbon hardtail the spanish guy is riding, the post on mtbr with the pic of the susser in was titled proflex 797 and the text had 797 in it quite a few times, that was why I called this the 797...!

Oooooh yeah, NOW I see it! I didn't notice the pivot on the seatstay. I thought that little link was just a stabilizer, of sorts.

Hmmm, 140 mm of travel, so that should REALLY mean about 100, right?  :o (sorry, wierd mood lately - apologies!!!!!!)

It does look like a nice ride.

Spanish, huh? That explains the link you posted.  [smiley=nod.gif] Interesting!

Well obviously it is a linker. I am more interested in a performance review. Maybe if it fares well, the Spanish company will get creative. I would like to see them take on Extralite.
