Cable guides - where can I get them?
« on: March 14, 2006, 03:03:48 am »
Anybody know where I can get some of those oversize cable guide adapters you need for Proflex frames so you can feed standard gear/brake cables along the frame and through the bosses? I think they're usually a gold colour.

I have some on one of my bikes but need them on the other 2 frames else I have to have cable outer from gear lever to v-brake etc!!!

Thanks

Tell me about it!

My waste of space LBS threw mine away because they were too lazy to thread the gear cable through the swing-arm on my XP-X (856)! [smiley=doh.gif]

Man. they looked good!

I've got a whole set of those in my "brake bits" box.
You can have 'em for free.

The postage may be a headache... is there an easy way for you to get stuff from the states?

Most LBS's I'm familiar with will give them to you for (at most) about 10 for a dollar.

K2 5000 Med ("wife's") w/Avid V's, Mavic CrossLink wheels, Manitou X-vert, Risse Astro-5

Yeah agree about any decent LBS having these spare, but mine only had boring black plastic ones to replace the lovely gold machined metal ones that my XP-X had on it!

I guess Orange (and me) want the original or similar ones, are they available anywhere?

I've got a set somewhere,
unfortunatly I polished them up for my polished 856 but didn't use them as I went full length out cable.

The ones on my bike are brass. Nice blue anodized alum ones would look nifty. Jenny Craig says yes.
