Hi!
I've got a Vector 2 on my XP-X (856).
Are you sure all of the Allen bolts are done up and not loose?
I've noticed my Vector has a bit of movement (Slop) on the top pivots, I guess the pivots bearings are worn..........?
The Pivot bolts also gradually come undone, if I firmly tighten them then the linkage doesn't seem to want to work so well and is too stiff. I guess this is because I didn't use ThreadLok on the bolts last time I re-assembled it.......?
I need to find the time to do a full overhaul on this bike, it's not had one for a couple of years while I've been road riding it.

On the other hand I was really paranoid about a rattle on my 4000se but it just turned out to be the "self-centering" XT V Brake calipers!

I guess the best thing is pick the bike up and shake it to see if anything is loose and then give it a good close inspection......maybe take the shock off and check it. Do you have some pre-load on the elastomers? if not then the stackers and seperaters might rattle.

Put a day aside and completely strip it and re-assemble it maybe? It's great fun and will make you realise how it all works!

Hey guys, I used to get a knock once in a while, I found that the lower link arms needed to be sqeezed together toward the shock when tightening the allens that pinch the pivot pin for the shock.  Been so long I can't remember all the details, but I do remember grabbing hold of the links as I was tightening down the allens on the lower link.

i am sure that id anything was loose enough on the girvin to rattle you would notice other problems. My vote is for the brakes rattling on the bushes

either get some more elastomers from iron horse or cvi (depanding where you are located)the elastomers should be tight in there you can  turn them by hand if they are right but there is resistance. When you put them on usea synthetic grease I am sure the etroleum grease aint good for them
