My OTHER bike
« on: February 16, 2006, 02:08:51 pm »
I just got back from the LBS where they installed a Romic on my EVO.  BUt I also had them install a Marzocchi Marathon SL and Raceface Deus XC cranks on my Scandium Salsa Caballero:

The gray stem doesn't look right, but I couldn't find one in black yet...

And while I'm at it, here's "Special Ed":

"Special Ed" is going to the Seattle Bicycle Swap Meet tomorrow.  I've got 7 bikes in the garage now, so something's gotta go ;(
MOUNTAIN:
00 K2 Evo 4.0
99 K2 Flying Monkey
03 Salsa Caballero Scandium

ROAD:

7 bikes in the garage leaves no room for my lowrider 62 VW Bus - "Max" is sitting outside in the rain and just rusting away!

Damn, you've got quite the collection! I'm working on my own, too, but "only" 4.

IMHO, I would LEAVE the stem on. In my eyes it works very well. You have the "4 corners" thing going on. The s/arm, seat, fork and stem are all pretty close in colour. It's aestheticallly pleasing.

Well, we know how MY eyes work. ::)

Actually, if anything, i'd just take out the brake studs on the s/arm, other then that it's really very very nice.

Must ride great too!

"Special Ed" sold at the swap meet.

I thought that I was going there to decrease my total bike count, but after I sold the FSR, I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. So I bought a rare Italian road race bike, a Giordana XL-ECO from a long-time local racer.  It's a beautiful lugged Dedacci steel frame with an Eddy Merckx chrome fork. The drive train is all Campagnolo, including Record hubs, brakes, headset and front derailleur.
