I wonder if this was the friend of that poster here that was teasing us with these.

Or was it the friend of the neighbor's brother? Or the father's son's buddy? I don't remember. [smiley=disbelief.gif]

FWIW the caller's area code is Seattle, Washington...which includes Vashon Island.

An uneducated guess is, .....well....the s~arms were at one time under the control of k2 and now in other hands.

draw your own conclusions

Matno just wait, you may get your deal of a lifetime! [smiley=laughing.gif]

Actually, my deal of a lifetime would be a carbon swingarm that was stiff. I really would like to lose the hyper-flexible swingarms I have now. Of course, I'm not willing to spend a lot of money on it, and modifying an aluminum swingarm would be too much work...

You are right; The x57 swingarms are less flexy than the Evo type. The strut has a lot to do with that.

i think the flex-y-ness from the carbon evo style may be from the main pivot (old style bushing) bearing area.

owning both 857 and carbon Oz, i can attest.

do you want show?  :P or go?  8)

Definately not SLOW. Wishing for some SNOW. I am not into BLOW. Don't want a mechanical that requires a TOW.

Simon's cartridge bearing upgrade is the fix for flex. Sturdy as a T-REX. Makes me hungry for TEX-MEX.

Yikes, I need a ride.

Nah! don't bother telling him, it'll only inflate the price!

Could be another "bulk" purchase coming on!

I never did get mine from the first batch, maybe the postage to the UK was too much!

I always thought the flex was attributed to the fact that the Evo type s/arm's have a longer straight section that wasn't re-enforced (where the "bridge" is)?

Just an educated guess. I haven't put the 5000 frame together.

Terry - dude, you DO need to RIDE. And you need to GLIDE. Show off your bike with PRIDE. Takin' it all in in STRIDE.

Oh crap - me TOO!!!! [smiley=laughing.gif]

Colin - what'd'ya mean?!?!?

I'm suggesting maybe we buy some more of these Swingarms as the last lot soon found homes!

and, from the last "bulk" purchase we did, one was put aside for me, but it was always a luxury spare for me as it is only for my 857 frame that I haven't done anything with.
Wankel came back with a Postage price of $41 to the UK which was too expensive for me, I'd previously had a pair of X-Links shipped for $18.95. I think Wankel went away to check the Postage but I haven't heard from him since.........
.........I won't be broken hearted if the swing-arm has gone to someone else, just wondering what's happening really......

Maybe Chad forgot. It IS set aside for you. I did NOT pay for all of these for them to sit around not in their respective owner's posession. One way or another you WILL be getting it.

Let me look into it.
