Proflex 857
« on: July 21, 2005, 07:07:35 am »
Hi, I just picked up a bike with a proflex 857 frame which has an MCU type shock instead of a coil spring type one.  Is this normal?  Also is the bike worth anything in the U.K. as Im debating whether to sell it or fix it up and ride it.

cheers, dave

The 857 should have coil over shocks front and rear,
if you have MCU springs with the gold ODS damper unit you can upgrade to coil springs through RDI (UK based company),spare parts can be obtain through CVI,
the 857 is a great bike and worth fixing up,here in the UK though its unlikely to fetch a good price.

Hi jeffhop, I would be interested in the coil spring but i think I already have an ODS shock on the bike.  Send me an email when its up for sale.

cheers, dave

I think I replied to an email about this - I don't think it is an 857 at all because the ODS shock won't fit on the 857.  Maybe a new sticker set?  digital photo?
