Does anyone out there use ti bolts on their x-links?  If so do you torque them the same?  I came across a set--man are they light--scary.

I was always wary of using Ti bolts,
compared to steel bolts which are usually graded
for strength at 8.8 for most applications
and 10.9 for use in applications requiring bolts
able to take higher loads,
most M6 Ti bolts are graded at 5,
however having seen that Ti bolts are used in many applications that take high loads etc,I decided to ive them a try,
my bike is now fitted with Ti bolts (and has been for a long time now) and I've encountered no problems,just make sure you apply anti seize to the
threads before fitting,on another note I resently bent the Ti rails on my saddle after a big stack and trying to straighten them was one of the toughest
things I've ever had to do regarding repairing a bike,
that stuff is tough,
anyway though I don't use X-links I'm sure you would have no problems using Ti bolts on an X-link.

I use Ti bolts on my cross link and the rest of my 5000 (damper, main pivot ...)

I don't care about the torque as I have a torque wrench in my arms

The only thing you have to care for is, you have to apply copper paste on the threads as a anti seize.

Thanks for the replies.  It seems that the bolts are strong enough.  I suppose that the torque is the same, 100in/lbs., for the link bolts, eh?
