Carbon v Aly - weight

Hi All,
Continuing on from Chainsaw's discussion on Carbon (x500) frame weight versus an Aly (x000) one.
I've just swapped out the Aluminium Crosslink Elite's on my 4000 for Carbon Elites and while I had both forks off of the bike I weighed them........
Carbon 1255g 2.77lb
Aluminium 1328g 2.93lb
(this is minus shock & spring, an NR5 and 200lb steel spring add on 454g {exactly a lb!!})
I then put the NR-5 back on but with a Titanium 200lb spring that only weighed 78g, so that's another massive saving of 36g!
so a grand saving of..........wait for it.............
.......73g+36g = 109g!..... 3.85oz....!
What a massive saving! Ha! Ha!, but at least they look nice and match the carbon swing arm on the back!
Actually, I must weigh the complete bike.........?

Actually, you'll probably find that the overall bike weight is now MORE. Don't know why, but things like that always seem to happen to me...
