Whisperdance Crosslink
« on: March 13, 2006, 11:08:07 am »
Hi Whisperdance,

The smartshock crosslink from an Oz will fit your x57. I did the swap from myself from my Oz to my large 957. It does have about 1 CM that you have to fill with spacers which I did. It rides well.

I would have replied to your original post but the site will not let me. Anyway, give it a go.

Hi Terry.

I did look to your 957 pictures, but I can't figure what is the correct critical measure. For my calculations, the headtube measures 120mm, 145mm with the headsets. So, to reach 163mm it will need 18mm spacer stack. To reach 153mm, the measure will be very close of what you say (1cm).
Can anyone measure it pleeeaaaase?
I do not know if it's bad not to respect the critical measure...

Thank you.

Ok, so you need a spacer stack. The fork does not change. so put it on and stack it to suit.

Your headset will also vary somewhat. Not all headsets measure the same.

I will measure my stack tonight if that helps.

Ok Terry.

I wil appreciate that.
I know I need a spacer stack. I know the fork does not change.
What I don't know is the critical measurement for the fork I have: 153 or 163?

I'm thinking that I will never be sure...

:P

Got it Whisper!

161mm is what I get on my crosslink. I am using a standard "Aheadset", the shimstack measures exactly 16mm.

Hope this helps,
Terry

Thank you, Terry.

I think I will try with that measure.

If anyone is interested in some noleen carbon fork and swingarm weights, please check out my gallery:
