how to get spare parts in Holland?
« on: June 09, 2003, 09:59:09 pm »
Hello everybody,

I'm the proud owner of a 5500C. Now I have the next question. My local bikestore doesn't sell K2/proflex but is very willing to help me out wherever they can. But because K2/proflex is hardly sold here in Holland, it's hard to get spare parts, even for my LBS.
Now I need the next spare parts: the part that connects the dreailleur with the swingarm and the bushins for the frontsuspension. Is there a simple way to order it in the USA directly from K2, or is there perhaps a better way? And what about shippingcosts? Any help would be good!

Thanks, Jeroen.

Jeroen,
Try Rings in Goirle (www.rings-goirle.nl). I bought my Proflex 4000 there. Up to now they manage quite well to get spare parts. They also seem to have an alternative for noleen shocks.

Fons,
thanks for the tip, but I bought my bike some years ago at Rings. At the moment they don't sell Proflex/K2 anymore. Besides that I have some 'less good' experiences with them delivering spare parts, so I moved to www.ventoux.nl (Tilburg).
An never start about an alternative for Noleen shocks to a Noleen-addict!

Jeroen.

Frank,

for the elastomers: check the sticky post by Colin (the post that's always on top at the moment). I don't think you can get elastomers somewhere in Holland, altough you could check with Rings in Goirle. Ask for Ward, because he seems to be the only person there that cares for his costumers.
My other spareparts I got sent to Holland by Carbon Angus (derailleur hangers and spacer kits). Maybe he can help...

Jeroen.

Sorry,

something went wrong there.

Buy the replaceable gear hanger from www.betd.co.uk - that's where I got mine from.

They have a website and shipping to Holland from the UK should be only a few pounds. If you have any difficulty - call me Mark Spruce +44 2392 528 932 - I run a bike business called www.ukbikestore.co.uk and I will help sort it out for you.

As for bearing parts try CVI as mentioned above or contact K2 direct in the USA - they have been very helpfullto me iin the past.

Best regards,

Sprucey
