Zed reincarnated into a single speed
« on: March 26, 2004, 01:13:00 pm »

Don't know if I'll take to single speeding as I'm an unapologetic gear masher but I had most of the parts for this laying around in the garage.  Had to buy the fork, headset, bottom bracket and crank.  With the help of some patience and Ebay, I didn't have to spend too much.   My spray can paint job came out pretty well too.

So far I've only ridden it along the irrigation canals around here but I am beginning to see why many people dig the single speed experience.   Haven't done any real trail riding on it yet because I want to replace the cassette cog with a BMX type cog before I really hammer on it.    Seems to work fine without a tensioner for now.

I'd rather put my old parts to use than have them laying around.    That's my excuse, anyway, and I'm stick'n to it.
