Just added some more carbon to the stable!
« on: February 28, 2003, 07:36:46 am »
And broke the bank at the same time! Fortunately, I think I can cover it by selling a few more things on eBay! I just got caught up in the latest outbreak of roadie fever...  :o

Here's what I got: A Cannondale Caad4 road frame. It's a beautiful yellow to red to black fade (custom team color) with a carbon Slice fork. I'm pretty stoked. I also ordered new shifters, handlebars, and a few other odds and ends that should make this baby into one smooth, fast machine! Can't WAIT to get it all built up. Now, if only I could concentrate on my school work... [smiley=worry.gif]

Oh, the frame also came with cranks, BB, brakes, Cane Creek headset, stem, and Bebop pedals. Not too shabby for $350 !!!

Sweet bike.  Former teammate who has since moved  back to the mainland has one of those.  I remember he was in a 3 man break with the other 2 guys being teammates.  So it was 2 against one against him.  They worked him over pretty good, but in the final sprint he just blew them away.  Good thing the bottom bracket area is really strong cause he was putting down some mean power to pull away like that.

Wow!  You come up with some great buys-you might have a business w/o knowing it- buying for others with a set % finders fee.  You're going to cruise eBay anyway so why not have an eye out for others with a bit going to you?  It sure would ease the spousal scrutiny too ;D

Roadie Fever  [smiley=laughing.gif]
riding a roadie, i have found is a different kinda fun than a mtn bike. when you feel the need for speed it's a real rush. i think i will be able to climb faster on my Oz, too, because of the road riding.

did your get a hopey for the mtn bike???

congrats on the road bike. I know for a fact that road riding makes my mtn biking far better. as for me, my Calfee frame should arrive in 4 weeks or so. I am currently looking for good wheels for it. I bought Spinergy Rev X tubular wheels on ebay last summer, but not sure I want to use them. currently looking at deep section american classic wheels, or even Aerospokes (since I will have them on the Oz as soon as I get the new Fox fork).
good luck with the Cannondale!!
