K2 Lithium/Turner 5-Spot
« on: October 28, 2003, 07:35:58 pm »
 ??? ??? looking at the recent pics of the lithium and the latest 5 spot pics in the last 2 MBA issues, i saw some
similarities in both bikes. knowing that k2 licensed turner's design for the razorback, i wonder if some similar type of agreement was done for the lithium.
other than a different brace between the seat and top tubes and different lower shock mounts, they both have a lot in common.
just asking!!   ::) ::)

I don't think they licensed the design since the Turner has a pivot on the chainstay while the K2 has a pivot on the seatstay. Although, I would say many new bikes are looking the same. In that same issue of MBA compair the K2 to the Kona Dawg and those to the Turner. It makes me think that you can get a good buy with the K2 or Kona.

Turner 5 spot has a true Horst link, the Lithium uses a rocker-swing link design

they have similar gusset and reinforcement of the seat/top tube area and run the cables on top of the top tube, but for the most part those are just cosmetic similarities
