Flyin Monkey brake bracket

Hi all.
I paint stripped the frame and swinger and cleaned up the alloy and sprayed on an etch primer and then sprayed the frame assey with a yellow/orange base and then a couple coats of two pack lacquar, the system to anyone who knows is called wet on wet.
I then fitted new swinging arm bearings supplied by CVI as the others were solid rust.
This is the problem my Hammerhead does not line up with the holes in the dropout and i see that K2 did a bracket for the bike for callipers kit number 5996.
Did this bracket come as an extra and did it take the iso fittings and does anyone have one they dont want or know where i can get one from.
I have contacted RDI as well.
Should i try to make my Hammer head fit, but this would mean too many holes though i could have the old ones filled with weld and respray the swinger again.

Get a weld on Hope disc brake adaptor and jig like Nigel's (ProflexGB) theres a pic in his gallery, there also very cheap compared to a hammerhead and when fitted doesn't look like an add on.Simon [smiley=nod.gif]

check out the galleries as many of us have made their own disc brake adapters out of aluminum, carbon or such
part #5996 was the original swingarm disc brake adapter made by k2/proflex for metal arms only - not the carbon fiber models. the 857 dropouts had mount holes tho - k2 tech had stated that the 5996's were not to be sold for the carbon arms fearing a heat buildup would loosen the epoxy bond. can't ever recall that happening, in fact, i don't think i ever heard of a converted disc plate dropout coming loose but many other v-brake units doing so. someday it'll happen tho.
mine were/are (as i have a bunch still in the box but will never be mounted outside my own stable) made out of aluminum and never had a problem with fatigue or 'heat transfer' vs. the stainless models.
i had a 'how to make' page a long time ago and i think some here copied the info but it is long since gone from my files - a guy with your talents and access to Ti or carbon should be able to whip one out in no time and get pretty creative in the doing so. i've seen some mighty purty ones - specially the carbons

its possibly worth noting that dominic tried fitting a CAHH2K to an monkey swingarm. all the HH's are a different fit for the multitude of swingarms that k2 have supplied over the years. The Oz and monkey/Evo have different drilled/tapped holes on the swingarm - I really do not know why K2 did this.
I think the 1000HH2K will fit this bike. (mike?) or indeed, one can try and get a K2 #5996 aluminum part from the USA.
