K2 Lithium
« on: August 24, 2003, 01:16:32 pm »
Has anyone heard of this bike, or know of any pics of it on the net? A mate of mine works for K2, and he's getting one (although I've heard from someone else that it may be called a Spire??) Just wondering what they are like? They are new for 2004.

The only new model that I'm aware of is the Tirade. It's a overweight(for what it offers) freeride /trail machine.

Personally, I like "Lithium" better than "Spire." Makes you think of someone who's psycho. On the other hand, you could think of it as something that calms a psych patient down, which may or may not have a positive connotation...
K2 5000 Large w/Avid discs, Bontrager Race Disc Modified wheels, Manitou Minute, Swinger 3-way
K2 5000 Med ("wife's") w/Avid V's, Mavic CrossLink wheels, Manitou X-vert, Risse Astro-5

If they are going to use an element name, then how about "Krypton". Reminds me of Superman rather than bipolar disorder.

Yeah, I heard it was called the Spire, but I checked with my mate, and he's pretty sure it's called a Lithium. It's just arrived in the country (New Zealand), and after being demo'd to the shops, it'll be his to use so I'll see it then. I just wanted to get a sneak preview.

Probably dropped because the name was probably used or reserved already.

Lithium makes me think of a battery.  I think my Palm and cellphone has those.  Maybe we'll have the Lithium Rabbit.  Keeps on hucking!!!!!
