I must say fyrstormer your very brave to be speaking to some guys that you don't even know about something so personal,so I'm going to stick my neck out too.The more I read the easier I feel about speaking about it myself. At the age of 13 I caught salmonella,my body went into shock, which In turn resulted in a nervous breakdown, over 2 years later i returned back to school. My cycling helped me get over it :D. Fast forward to age 23 it all kicked off again with anxiety, depression and the feeling of worthlessness. My doctor says some of it could be down to RedBull side effects. Fast forward again to present day,its been 13 years and i suffer with ocd, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, muscle weakness and sometimes i can't explain things i forget the words. I'm presently only on amitriptyline for the daily migraines, sometimes i only get 3 hrs sleep at night because my brain is in overdrive,my brain feels like it's fluttering when i close my eyes. Doctors on the 24th of this month to see what concoction i get this time  :o keep your head high and just keep going forward,my 3 kids keep me going.
Wow man, that's rough. The only thing I can think of to suggest is, maybe you have a severe food allergy and don't know it. Have you tried eating nothing but chicken, rice, and salt for a week? I know a few people who figured out they were severely allergic to all sorts of things by eating only the bare essentials for a while, and then adding other foods into their diets one at a time.

As for talking to strangers...I dunno, I guess I figure strangers are the people who are least likely to tell me what I want to hear, and the least likely to have opinions that just happen to be similar to my own. I can more accurately confirm my sanity if I can get strangers to understand me.

Just goes to show, you never know whether the shoes someone else is wearing pinch or cause blisters.

Amitriptyline is an antidepressant that is sometimes used to treat migraines such as yours.  It's an oldie.  Dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary retention.  It raises the pain threshold so you don't think the migraine hurts as much as it does.  Beta blockers are becoming the latest way to prevent migraines... assuming you don't have a heart problem.

Headaches, insomnia, nausea and anxiety are common side effects of antidepressants in general.  Especially at the beginning.   If the dose is high enough, you may wonder whether the side effects are worse than the condition they're treating! Have you talked to different doctors for other opinions?

An environmental sensitivity or allergy could be in part to blame (I'm going to go beyond simply food).  Tracking that sort of thing down is difficult to say the least.  It could be something in your workplace, especially if you work with any sort of chemical mixtures on a regular basis.  Remember Dire Straits 'Industrial Disease'??  A good place to start might be as fyrstormer suggests - a very simple diet for a while.  Roasted chicken, brown rice, carrots.  You can also try a rotational diet that considers food groups as they relate to each other, so you aren't getting the same family of food two days in a row.  And who knows what the Salmonella did when you were a kid... I'm not sure what the long term effects of that are, but I suppose you've done plenty of web research yourself on that one.

And yeah, stay away from the energy drinks... those are just bad news, straight up...  8)
Nothing is foolproof for a sufficiently talented fool.

I drank half of a Five Hour Energy, once. I spent the next half-hour feeling like I was about to have a heart attack. Never again.
