Proflex cable ferrule

Hi folks just a quick message to mention a solution to replacing those brake and derailier end ferrules that go missing or are not supplied with second hand frames.
I have tried searching for a supplier of OE parts or something very similar it common to see
Full outer cable runs
BMX adjuster ends
Home made from the CNC machine in garage
But these Jagwire 5mm cable end ferrules seem to be a cost effective and slick alternative to replace the original parts
Jagwire refill part #CHA056
Description Open ferrule fits 5mm housing
10 pieces in a pack
They were ordered from the states via EBay but you may try your luck in finding a source nearer home if you can.
I will post a picture on my (Photobucket) page Petes97857
as I still can't get to grips with uploading pictures on this site
Hope this is a help and can tidy up a few scuffy home brewed temp fixes
Pete

Post the picture to your Photobucket account, and then copy the [/IMG] link into a post on this site. That's how you link pictures on web forums.
I look forward to seeing how they fit. I don't need any right this minute, but I have been looking for a good replacement solution.

Hmmm, yes, I had this problem when the knuckle dragging chimp mechanic in my LBS threw two of mine away!
(When he decided to direct route the rear derailleur cable through the swing arm on my XP-X; now reverted to original ! )
Buy Two from Korea for £2.31 +£2 shipping
http://www.bicyclehero.com/gb/jagwire-5mm-alloy-housing-stopper-cha056.html
or 10 from Brussels for €4.65 + €2.99
http://www.accessoires-velos.com/jagwire-cable-guide-stopper-for-5mm-housing-black-10-pcs-cha056-new9-1.html
Chain reaction used to do a very nice "Brand X" cable stop in silver which I bought in 2008 for £1.99, but they're now discontinued.

I also bought a pair of shiny Chrome ones from a bike shop in Bristol in 2010, don't ask me exactly where, but it was on the right hand side as I was cycling from the city centre on the road to Filton Airport. (After I had managed to pull a plastic flanged version similar to the Jagwire one's clean through the mount!)

Hi folks
It's good to see others have also found some solutions and showed some suppliers.
I was asked for some pictures of fitted ferrules so here goes
First photo is with old BMX brake adjusters fitted I used this as temporary fix but had to ease open the frame mounts as they looked like they had been hit with a hammer to close them up to hold the cable ends they were a bit chipped and bent but worked ok.
http://m907.photobucket.com/albumview/albums/petes97857/photo-28.jpg.html?
Second pic is with ferrule fitted this evolved a bit of further straitening and the fileing of the front of s ferrule to act as a lead in the lugs were reformed to fit snug but still able for the ferrule to be removed when frame will be repainted after all current modifications are finished.

It may be possible to fit these without damage to paint on mounts that are 100% but it will be at your own risk
