Offroad Pro-Flex Climber 700c questions
« on: February 21, 2011, 03:02:50 am »
Hi all,
I have recently aquired an unusual proflex and web searches have left me with nothing other than a 750 has a similar paint scheme. So from this and the spec I assume it's a 1991 model or there abouts.

It is a Hybrid / Cross bike with 700c wheels, I could only find the Newport which is a later model than this

So if anyone can help me out with any other model information other than Climber and help out with origional spec so I can start the restore process.

was going to hit up suspensionforkparts for new elastomers but they don't list climber so if anyone knows an equivelant that would be great.

Thanks

Here are some pics of the bike

Well how cool is that!

Suspension parts should be same as most early Offroad proflexes, like the 952.

My Offroad would use the same springs as yours. Here is pic.

I can't see the piccie on photobucket for some reason...........can you post another link or copy of the photo on here?

Quote from a 1994 catalogue that included a potted history of PRO~FLEX:-

1991
Pro-Flex Climber becomes the world's first full-suspension trekking hybrid bike

END

Maybe it evolved into the 254 which was a Gen4 high Pivot frame with 700c wheels.

Then again, I've "evolved" my XP-X into a 700c Road bike, so that proves they can do anything!
