1998 K2/Proflex 4000 - Steerer Tube Length For RS Tora?

Hello everyone!
I'm in the process of replacing the suspension fork.
The previous Girven Crosslink ELT has a pretty long steerer tube....About 9.25 inches.
I have a Tora 302 UTurn coil that I was going to install. Just not sure if I should keep to the longish tube length the Girven has?
I am using the original bars and stem and just not sure if this fork, when in full travel mode will require a lower steerer tube to maintain weight on the front end?
Any help would be excellent, as I'm hoping to only cut the tube once

If it were me I'd cut the steerer to the same length/height as you had the Girvin fork, assuming that height was comfortable for you?
Just go with whatever you find works best for you, start with it long and cut down/remove spacers as/when you need to (that way it's unlikely you'll end up with the steere tube too short)

Thanks!
Yes, I agree that is best to err on the side of too long.
I do like not being hunched down too much and even have my bar ends angled up. I just wasn't too sure if the longer travel and different design of the fork would make the steerer tube length not comparable somehow.
Thanks again.

I decided to reassemble the girvin and put it side by side with the RS.
It appears that the Girvin design allows the head tube to nestle down quite a bit lower.
I'm thinking that a more apples, to apples steerer tube comparison, would be to find out what steerer tube length K2 used on the RS Judy, when it shipped on some 4000s back in the day.
I'll be on the hunt for that info.
Maybe there is a document posted somewhere here?
