Anybody ever dealt with these guys? absolutely useless!
I've been trying to track down a pivot kit for my K2 Evo 3.0 for months. I was able to get into contact with MJ Sureau from K2 bikes via email, who referred me onto worldwide cycle supply to buy the kit there. He gave me a name and contact number to phone, so that i could order the kit over the phone and have it sent to me up here in Canada (where i am for the summer).
However, when i tried contacting this number, nothing happened. I was given another number to contact: Dead line. I replied to him, asking him what was going on, and if i could just order the kit online. Apparently i had to phone them up and order it that way. I was given another two numbers to try. This time, one was dead, and the other just rings out. I dialled in the correct extension number, and kept on getting through to a mailbox. So, i look up their customer service line, phone it, and again i get through to another answering machine!
Every number i have tried seems to ring out and go to answering machines, even when i tracked down their canadian branch over in Alberta! I'm beginning to wonder if anyone actually works there!
Eventually, i ended up phoning baum hydraulics to get the bearings i needed (where the guy on the phone who put through my order seemed to be a bit of a simpleton). It's not ideal, as the various washers in the pivot kit are on their last legs and really need replacing, but i guess i'll just have to make do for now.
GRRRR! Sorry if this seems like a bit of a pointless rant, but i can't help feeling a little let down by the only major supplier of K2 parts in the world!
Their customer service motto: “We Strive to Exceed Customer Expectations”
Yeah. Right. They might be able to if they ever ANSWERED THE PHONE!
Thanks for listening

Who is Worldwide cycle supply? can you give a number and/or web site, is it Iron Horse? They are the sole suppliers of original PRO~FLEX/K2 kits that I am aware of.
see sticky links at top of page.
or go direct

If you've been dealing with Iron Horse then yes, some people have had frustrating experiences with them, but I had excellent service from them, very helpful, I think it doesn't help if people get impatient with them, after all I think they bought this part of K2 Bikes business for a pittance and are just dealing with a handful of spares, so it's unlikely to be their top priority..............contact for parts: Mike Lohmann
mikel@ironhorsebikes.com
What type of Evo Pivot have you got? the needle bearing type or the "two-tube" (4000/5000/5500/Oz) type?
If the former, then I think Iron Horse may have run out of RK012 kits which last retailed at $16.95 from them and a hefty $39.99 from K2!
If the latter, then you need a RK008 Kit which they may still have or I have some in the UK.
There's also some excellent info on here somewhere regarding replacing the needle bearing pivots with stock bearings so have a dig for that.
It's not easy keeping our old steeds going, but keep the faith (and patience and good humour....! <GRIN>)

WWCS represent Ironhorse and K2, as well as a couple of other brands.
I contacted one of the guys at worldwide cycle supply via email, who assured me they still had the RK012 kit (It is the former, that you mentioned), and that it was set aside for me when i call.
I understand that these small parts are really not a great priority for them, so if they were to push an order back a bit, or something along those lines, i would understand. However, the fact that they do not even answer their phones shows a lack of professionalism. If i had a company represented by WWCS, and i knew this kind of behaviour was going on i would certainly be having words with them. At the end of the day, a company is nothing without its customers, and they clearly dont seem to care about them. Even their customer service line rang out!
I've had a look around for info on the parts i need for it, and was able to order some of the bearings from Baum Hydraulics, which hopefully should be with me before i return to the UK (5th october). It ended up costing me about $24 for 4 bearings, but its not too much of a problem.
I didn't really start this topic with the aim of achieving anything, i just needed to vent

Perhaps i was a little hasty in badmouthing WWCS, as i have just received an email from the guy i was trying to contact there, telling me that he has been away on holiday this past week, and apologizing for the delay.
Fair enough, he wasn't there to answer his phone, but were the rest of the company's employees on vacation with him? hmm... It's all a bit suspect, methinks...
However, water under the bridge. I'm gonna call tomorrow when the office opens and order the kit then, i figure it can't hurt to have a spare.
Case Closed.
