loose 857 pivot bolt

Hi All, started changing a few bits on my 857 and noticed the main pivot bolt - the one that tightens on one side only - is loose.

do I need to loosen both pinch bolts on the carbon swingarm and then tighten the main pivot bolt, or can I just do it up?

how tight should it be?

The instructions on the RK002 Kit (Main Pivot x56) say:

- Reinstall main pivot bolt and torque to spec. (5mm Head - 175lb, 6mm head - 250lb)

- Detatch strut, hold swing arm up and tighten pinch bolts evenly until the swing arm (without wheel) falls slowly down when released.

So, I guess the proper procedure would be to loosen the pinch bolts then tighten the pivot bolt as per above, but I bet you'd be OK just tightening the pivot bolt.

I think I know what you are trying to do. Loosen the pinchbolt on main bolt head side of the swingarm. Tighten the threaded cup side of the swingarm. This will hold the cup from rotating in the swingarm. You should torque the main bolt really tight.

Loosen the pinchbolt so the swingarm can rotate freely, and adjust like Colin said. I would since you are there, regrease the cups per OP's quick lube sequence. DO NOT REMOVE THE SWINGARM FROM THE BIKE UNLESS YOU HAVE TO!

My first impression is that the grease dried up in the swingarm, siezing, and worked loose from the bolt.
