I am the new owner of a Proflex 756, well used but what I wanted.  I was wondering if anyone could help me search the threads.  I am specifically looking for how to hang a rear derailleur hanger, if not a new one.  Also wondering what the hole in the chainring side of the swing arm is for, has there been any problems with the swingarm "narrowing", and if there are any recommendations for set up. I am 215lbs and ride about 4hours a week on twisty/rooted singletrack.

What cable would run inside the swing arm?  The rear derailleur cable is already where is suppose to be.  Any ideas on the derailleur hanger?

Is that the hole at the front driveside of the swingarm?  If so, I think it was intended to help with front derailleur cable anchor bolt tightening.  Didn't help much.

There should be two holes in the drive side of the box section of the swing arm on an x56 type bike.
One at the front near the pivot and one at the axle end. These are for the rear derailleur cable to run through.
As original, there should be a brass end cap (ferrule) at each end to locate the cable outer casing into (and the cable runs bare through the swing arm). These may have been lost or removed and in this case you can run a continuous length of outer from the down tube to the derailleur.

There are also two holes in the front bridging section of the swing arm,
One on the centre line which is threaded and this was for mounting a canti brake cable stop .
Also a large through hole slightly off centre on the drive side. That one has got me stumped!
Dunno what that is for, I’ve had my XP-X from new and it has never had anything in either the threaded hole or the larger “through” hole.

If you need a derailleur hanger it is item 14492 but it is unlikely to be available OEM.

The hole off-centre is for adjusting the cbale clamp on your front mech. Perhaps with your particular front mech you've not needed it, but believe me although it's a pain the the proverbial to get to (rear wheel out) I have needed it for my mech!!
