I'm legal now...

I finally got my 856 all built up and ready to go. The only thing that really needs to be done is to dial in the suspension. But before I do that, I need to get a spring/elastomer kit from Manitou to firm up my fork. Right now, it's really bouncy.

I took it for a short spin around the block, and the rear feels like it's almost there... it's a lot tighter in the rear end than I thought it would be! I didn't notice any bounce coming from the rear when I stood up on it, and it seems that the damping actually works. When I bought the shock, I thought I broke it by compressing it about a quarter inch without air in it. Good to know that it actually works, even after screwing with it!  ;)

Anyway, there's pics in the gallery. Now I'm an official Pro-Flex owner, and have a reason to hang out here...  8)

Any bike will do Mike!  I've read often that the 856 platform is thought of as the perfect XC bike-and even with my Oz I'm tempted by my dads 856.  With basic components it's nearly as light!  And seems to be very efficient in the pedaling dept.  Look into some pivot kits too-they've been out of production for a while I think.

 8) Welcome aboard! I have a 856 for years it has been a stableride for me. It loves to climb and looks for the steep trails.
Enjoy!  8)
