657/Beast Fork compatibility

Does anybody know if a '96 beast fork will work on a '97 657 expert with way big frame?

yes should be fine cos the 657 frame is actually a x56 frame

No way.

Only the 97 beast used the chubby telescopic forks, which had 4 inches of travel. The 96 beast used a either a vector or a 3 inch slider.

But the good news is that any of the proflexes can utilize up to 4 inch travel forks safely. 5 inches and up can put too much load on the top tube.

Dual crown forks amplify the load on the top tube also. In fact, I would trust any single crown fork up to 5 inches. I use a 3 inch/5 inch Psylo on my 4000 with no worries.

any any 96 bike had the spacers to allow the use of a 1 inh steerer in a 1 and 1/8 headset.Hopefully you can switch everything over.I beleive the parts are readily available if you dont have em
