Risse Racing,

Thier genesis is cheap and light. Thier astro 5 a good mid level shock and economical. Thier Terminator is as good as they get.

All are available in 8.25 inch i2i.

I think I've seen a Swinger 3-way mounted on a carbon frame with no modification. I had to modify my swingarm on my aluminum 5000 to fit one on, but I think the carbon 5500 frames have just enough clearance on the upper mounting plates to mount it in the opposite direction from how I have it mounted (mine's really "upside down" - not that it matters).

I could be wrong.

I am also a fan of the Risse Astro 5. Good shock.

I have a fox RC on my Oz.  No frame tinkering was involved.  I did make the spacers though.  My eye to eye shock length is 1/4 inch shorter then the Noleen.  I have more travel and it did not affect the bike in any detectable way.  Longer eye to eye lengths required tinkering.

Hi knotty,

I can't help you, but I'm looking for a smart shock. Would you sell yours, as soon as you got a replacement for it?

Angus,

I have the genesis on my crosslinks. It is stupid lite, and fit perfect. I have had it back to Risse for revalving twice so to make it more plush because it has no external adjusment. I did notice a difference to my liking both times. Now I just need to get past the breakin period. BUT IT WORKS!

I cannot say enough good things about the qualilty, price and customer service. It does help to live close by also.
