I'm not sure why now particularly but I think that if we didn't have 'guest' thread creation it wouldn't be a problem. Perhaps make it that guests can only reply to existing threads and you have to register to create a thread??? Bit draconian, but anybody genuine would only need to register first which isn't hard...

i have been deleting them as soon as i see them.i was going to block the ip but the same guest often hs wildy differing ip numbers...lets watch for a bit.if it gets really bad might move to register only...

course there is nothing to stop one of these freeloaders to register and continue to post,tho they would get banned/blocked pretty quickly

I don't think it's an active process by an individual - somebody gets a program that seeks forums that you can post to without registration and it posts spam. Nobody's sat at a keyboard doing it themselves.
