Proflex X57 frame sizing question.
« on: March 20, 2006, 09:52:52 am »
I want to buy a proflex 757, the seller does not know what "size" it is.

This is what I know:  "The frame measures 20" from center of foot pegs to top of seat tube".

Is this a medium sized frame?  That is my guess anyways.   I am about 5"8.  Think it would fit me?

Thanks for your input in advance.

That measures the same as a medium frame (18")
should fit you fine.
my wife rides a 856 18" frame and she's 5' 5"

I thought most proflexes were similar top to bottom (allowing length of seatpost to determine saddle height), but it was the length of the top tube that counted to allow for longer limbed bikers?

Looks large 18" to me.
I always confuse 18" as medium (which I consider as normal sizing).

check the wheelbase....axle to axle. Each model has quite discrete measurements not much room for interpretation large 18 will measure 1060 mm 1060/25.4 inches

Well, if it has 20" from center of foot pegs to top of seat tube, it is a large size.
That's what my large 97 Animal frame measures...

Thanks guys.  I ended up buying a medium 757, it is supposedly in decent shape.  Will to see I guess.

I think you got a great deal on this one. Congrats!

Sizewise... you may be knockin' your knees on the handlebars in turns.
Looks like it has a nice long stem, so that should help.

Strangely, I'm only 5' 9" and really prefer my WayBig 856 over my Big one. Either way, it's a fine ride so enjoy!

That IS strange... ;)

$270 would be a good deal for a crappy hardtail frame with those components. You got a steal. Enjoy!
