957 shock adapter; x57 Al & x56 RDI mounts 4sa

Noticed in a post that 'Shovelon' had managed to fit a manitou 3 way swinger shock to a 957 - what adapter did you use? Also does anyone have any RDI disc mounts suitable for a 1997 proflex animal (aluminium swingarm) and a 956 for sale - RDI are out of stock at the moment...

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

As I mentioned in the private message, I welded plates to the strut. I first machined recesses into the strut mount for a total width of the shock, then welded the plates on.

The only hangup was that the bonding loosened and launched the struts. I could have rebonded them, but I was at the bench welding anyway, so they got welded.

My shock is 7.5 inchs i2i, so I could not make a bolt on adapter.
