itoi length for a stratos shock?
« on: April 22, 2003, 02:00:03 pm »
since I can not fit a Fox RC on my med evo [smiley=coolfrown.gif] and cant find a proper length fox r, I am considering the stratos, but would like to know what itoi length I may be able to get from them.  I am leaning towards 8.5"

stratos custom makes them for the evo

at a length of 8.25" eye to eye(210mm).  they actually use a 7.875" shock and have a longer tail that they put on to get to the 8.25" length.  been using my helix expert for 1.5 years now and love it.

if 7.825" is stratos biggest length, then I suppose I should try picking one up from mtbr classifieds. I thought they could make it longer (8.25, or 8.5)

sorry, the 7.875" length is their longest non custom length in the helix line.  they need to add the different tail to it if you want it to fit your evo at 8.25".  That mod costs about $70US if you already have a 7.875" shock.  they have a new line of downhill shocks called "el jefe" that probably come in longer stock lengths like 8.5 and 9" but may be a bit much for the evo frame and probably a lot of money too.
