Duh, I guess light weight XC bikes aren't for big drops. (Don't be offended if you're one of those guys who posted here about putting a Junior T on your 856...)

Feeling offended is purely optional! But considering that at least some of the EVO frames came stock with dual crown forks and that the frame can easily be run with 6" of rear travel, I'd say it's not the same as a x5x... I've seen some pretty sweet looking Disco Monkeys with Boxxers.

Personally, I wouldn't want ANY dual crown fork on my bike. I had a RockShox DC for a brief time on one of my 5000s (it came with it), and I've ridden my father-in-law's 5000 with a CHUBBIE, and I can honestly say that regardless of travel, plushness, etc, I can't stand the weight. My brother's Boxxer was sweet on the downhill, but I don't usually shuttle and the rest of the time it was painful. The first time I tried to pop my front wheel over a log, I realized that the extra 2-4 pounds on the front end REALLY makes a difference. Plus, I like to turn around on tight trails, and the DC forks have a limited turning radius.

But enough of my rant. I freely admit to being somewhat of a weight-weenie...

Well, at least the s/arm didn't break completely. Hopefully the rider was reasonably unscathed.

Kinda makes me think twice about trying to wheelie so much now, though.

i didnt think that it was any secret that the strut bikes were a little fragile.....they are xc race bikes...
