Chainring size help please
« on: June 19, 2005, 10:29:00 am »
I found a set of Race Face cranks and I wanna buy them. They're the older, Turbine LP pieces. This means they use a 5-bolt, 110 BCD pattern. I'm worried because it has a 46-tooth biggie on it.

Will these fit on my 3000?

Currently it has a Shimano LX 42 tooth, and I can't tell if there's enough room between the s/arm and derailleur.

Anyone?

PATIA!

Oh, also, what sizes can I find a 110 biggie? 42, 44, 46?

Just had a look on my 5000 with a 46 XTR chainring.

The diameter of the teethtops is 188mm and with the chain on it the diameter is 193mm.
Meassure your 42 chainring and add the half of the difference of it and you will know how much more of radius a 46 will be.
