proflex 4000 swingarm pivot

I have a proflex 4000 with a swingarm pivot in much need of an overhaul.  Does someone know how expensive this repair will be and if it should be done in a shop or if someone can manage it with a few tools?

Firstly carbon or aluminium s/arm,
Bushes in the s/arm or needle bearing in the frame,I think to tell if its the latter there is no bolt going through centre of the pivot just a hollow sleeve but I could be wrong.

Either way its a relatively easy procedure just need to know which one you have.

I also have a 4000, 1998 model.  I believe that the needle bearings came out in 1999 or 2000 and that the 4000 has the bushings.  It's pretty easy to rebuild yourself and K2 has been pretty good at sending the parts.  They are sometimes hard to find at local shops.

It's a carbon fiber swingarm and it has a bolt running throught it.  

I say it needs an overhaul because it didn't move freely when I swapped shocks recently.  I assume it's supposed to drop back down if you lift it up.

Sounds like it just needs a re-lube and pivot adjustment,no the s/arm should not just drop back down but move through a smooth arc through its full travel with the wheel removed,checkout Op's jiffy lube in the how to's section,you dont need a full strip down to do this.

Yeah, you'll be amazed at what a difference a few minutes of love can do to smooth up your bushings. I also recommend that you "clean" your shock bushings at the same time. Don't lube them, but take them apart and rub them down with solvent until you can twist them in the shock eyelets with your fingertips. Makes for a much smoother suspension feel...
