x56 Rear Travel Mods

Gents,

Has anyone aboard ever seen one of the 856's (or similar frame) with a modified rear strut attached at the cantilever bosses?

My seat-of-the-pants calcs are telling me I can build a very light 5" travel package with a 600# spring. I believe this can be mounted at the existing upper pivot point. If not, maybe it will mount to the lower end of the seat tube...

The big trick will be fabricating a shorter strut and the pivot mounts to screw into the brake bosses.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience here?

Will
