should ther2 equipped standard crosslink be a good choice to uprgrade an old hardtail with a junk shock...its a trek 930 by the way...i just saw one go for 99 bucks on ebay...

The crosslink is a short travel fork and the nr2 has rebound damping only.its a relatively old design too.Only you can decide!Measure your headtube and make sure that it is less than 130,if its loger than that you will need a "long" crosslink.Most of us love the crosslink cos they were oem on our bikes!

Make sure the headtube on the old 930 will work with a "modern" fork.
I have a 920 Antelope and it has a 1" headtube. If yours is the same then the fork won't fit at all.
