X-link questions
« on: October 27, 2004, 03:22:21 am »
Hello,

I'm thinking about getting one of the X-links from ediscount.  My K2 is set up mostly for play.  My X-country bike that I want to put it on is a 2001 Schwinn Rocket 88.  It has about 3 inches of rear travel.

Would any of the shocks be a good choice?

and what are the differences between the models?

Thanks in advance, D

the x link is a short travel fork and is rigid torsionally.Basically there are three shock choices and two fork models and two material options, but not all chices are available
shoks are nr1(expert?),or nr2(elite,i can never remember which is which)which has rebound adjustment,or smartshock which is a nr2 with a brain ( ic an never remember which is which)
two fork models standard or long. There is no difference in travel, but you will need the long if your headtube is longer than 125mm
the xlink is available in aluminium or carbon, the carbon is fractionally lighter and is supposed to have slightly stiffer legs, the catch is the carbons are either long or smart,no std nr2 are listed.I hope i have answered your questions.
